Owning a Jack Vettriano on a Budget: Cards, Open Editions, Signed Prints and Klarna
Original Jack Vettriano paintings sell for tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds, and the rarest signed prints run into the thousands. But there are plenty of ways to own his work for much less, and a few smart ways to make a signed print more affordable.
Step 1: Greeting cards and small books (under £10)
Our official greeting cards cost £2.50 each and reproduce the full painting, from Mad Dogs to Days of Wine and Roses. Framed in a simple mount, a card makes a surprisingly handsome small picture for a desk or bookshelf. The book Fallen Angels collects many of his images for under £10.
Step 2: Books about his life and work (around £20 to £30)
Jack Vettriano: The Early Years, the catalogue of the 2022 Kirkcaldy Galleries exhibition, is beautifully illustrated and costs around £20. It is the best way to see the paintings that started his career.
Step 3: Open edition prints (around £125)
Open editions are unnumbered, so they cost far less than signed limited editions while still giving you a high-quality giclée for the wall. The Summer Days Triptych gives you three sunny beach paintings from 1993 as a set.
Step 4: Smaller signed limited editions (from around £450)
Signed, numbered limited editions start at a few hundred pounds. Smaller-format prints with compact image sizes tend to be the most affordable way into collecting, and they still come signed and numbered by Vettriano with a certificate of authenticity. Good examples include:
Angel, an early 1990s London scene in an edition of just 100
Queen of the Waltzers, a fairground scene released in 2024
The Very Thought of You, a quiet, romantic portrait
Spreading the cost with Klarna
For UK customers, Klarna lets you spread the cost of a print at checkout:
Pay in 3: split the total into three instalments. A £465 print, for example, becomes three payments of £155.
Pay in 30 days: receive your print first and pay in full within 30 days, where available.
Klarna is available to UK residents aged 18 and over. Klarna runs a credit check, late fees may apply, and your payment agreement is with Klarna. Using Klarna does not change your 14-day right to cancel or our returns terms. Read more in Simplify Shopping with Klarna Payment Options.
Tips for getting more for your money
Buy the image you love. A smaller print of a painting that moves you will give more pleasure than a bigger one you feel lukewarm about.
Consider framing costs. Budget for good conservation framing; see our framing guide.
Ask about upcoming stock. Prices and availability change as examples come and go. Tell us what you are looking for and your budget, and we will let you know when something suitable comes in.
